JB Cross Construction Law
Experienced representation is just a phone call away.
I am licensed in the state and federal courts for the state of Arkansas. I am a current member and officer of the Construction Law Committee of the Arkansas Bar Association. A frequent speaker on construction related topics, I have written numerous articles on all aspects of state, federal, commercial and residential construction.
On August 18, 2014 it was announced that J B Cross, Jr. has been selected for inclusion in the 21st Edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the practice area of Litigation - Construction and have been named the Best Lawyers' 2014-15 Little Rock Litigation - Construction "Lawyer of the Year." Only a single lawyer in each practice area, in each community is being honored as a "Lawyer of the Year."
I have had extensive experience in drafting construction contracts in both the private and governmental arenas, concerning fixed priced, design/build, unit price, construction management and cost plus contracts. These contracts range from the simplest subcontract agreement, to major commercial construction contracts.
I represent and have represented a number construction surety firms doing business in the State of Arkansas. I have dealt extensively with all aspects of surety representation from start to finish with rumbles, payment claims, performance claims, and indemnity.
I have had extensive experience in both prosecuting and defending construction claims on residential, commercial, state and federal projects. I have dealt with a number types of claims both prosecuting and defending that include: handling delay and acceleration claims; differing site conditions; loss of productivity and cost overrun claims; and defective construction claims. I have the technological expertise to deal with claim documentation in traditional paper form and electronic form and to analyze and thoroughly document construction claims.
